AWA Winner // Franklinford Project
15th October 2018
Last month we attended the 2018 Fenestration Australia Conference held in Port Douglas. Our Licensee European Window Company won 'Best Use of Windows and Doors in a Residential Construction Under $1 Million' for their Franklinford Project awarded by the Australian Window Association. Congratulations Euro Window!
Franklinford is a small community in the central highlands of Victoria, Australia. Considering the project location and its breath taking country surrounding, it was vital for the client to create a comfortable home that allows you to enjoy the stunning views of nature and land and seamlessly connect the inside living areas to the outside environment.
The main attraction of the home is the inviting kitchen, dining and living area which incorporates our Thermeco EC95TB sliding system. The large floor to ceiling sliding panels wrap around the back of the home allowing guests to completely indulge in the stunning views of Franklinford and allowing for enhanced connectivity between the internal and external living spaces which is perfect for entertaining.
The EC45TB and EC95TB collectively reduce the thermal transmittance through the seasons ensuring a warm habitable space in the cold winter months and cooler oasis in the blistering summer months. The reduced thermal transmittance ensures less money is spent on heating and cooling bills. The fixed and awning opening windows in the bedrooms allows for exceptional venilation and views onto the outside environment.
The sustainable home has excellent design features and the use of low-maintenance materials such as the Thermally Broken powder coated aluminium frames combined with highly efficient double glazing making the home more livable and cost-efficient.
The main benefit of the design are the double glazed thermally broken windows which not only saves money but also reduces the need to use our finite energy resources to maintain a comfortable living habitat.
