The Managing Director of Thermeco, Carl Costabile, has recently completed his hidden haven, Alvie House.
Halfway up the hill, overlooking Riversdale golf course and the peaceful surroundings, the city lights can be seen in the distance through the treetops. The home has a sense of calm and tranquility, it is modest and minimal with a practical design that is comfortable and easy to use.
Alvie House and the Thermeco brand are the same. The care and thought for the way things are is subtly obvious, the warmth, welcome and connection with people and the planet is the basis of both the home and the business. This latest creation will be loved and lived by many and will be the inspiration and setting place for the yet to be born innovations.
Alvie House has a quiet retreat type of energy, the volume of the main space is framed with full height glazing using our award-winning Slimline Sliding system. The fully rebated west facing doors reach 3.5m high and 10m wide, the profiles are thermally broken and the glazing is grey tinted to absorb the summer sun, low E and double glazed. “The comfort of living in a home where the frames and glazing have been carefully considered is something that too many people overlook, it makes all the difference.” Carl Costabile.
The use of concrete and timber form a base for the palette of the home as well brass materials that are featured throughout. The front door and the windows are made using thermally broken brass profiles, along with the tap wear, door furniture, shelving, and other integrated details. Thermeco is the exclusive Australian distributor for Secco Sistemi from Treviso Italy, who are the world renowned leaders in thermally broken steel and brass window systems.
Over the years, Thermeco have been involved in the design and implementation of windows and doors in many remarkable projects around Australia and New Zealand. We are proud to add Alvie House to that growing list.
